3rd Sunday of Lent: Thank You and Recovery Update
Greetings in the name of the Lord:
I want to extend a huge thank you to the parishioners who generously provided meals for the Meal Train during my recovery time. All of the meals were amazing, from presentation to flavor. I could tell much thought was put into each food item. The addition of notes of encouragement and recipes with ingredients was really special! Thank you also to everyone for your prayers during my surgery and recovery. Your prayers have been truly efficacious.
Here is an update on my recovery. The doctor told me that the surgery on the left great toe is now healed to a point where I cannot cause injury to the joint implant. At most, I can cause irritation, but no harm. There is a considerable amount of scar tissue to breakdown yet. This will take time. I can walk up to 30 minutes a few times a week. I am still relearning how to walk properly after 9 years of walking incorrectly, rolling my foot to avoid pain. It is good to be back to the regular public celebration of Mass after being out of commission for nearly 8 weeks while recovering from this surgery. I do still have some limitations, such as prolonged standing and the need for resting my left foot regularly.
Thank you again to everyone during this time of recovery for me.
Yours in Christ:
Fr. Haft
