Epiphany of the Lord

Greetings in the name of the Lord:

A Blessed New Year to all of you. Today we celebrate the Feast of the Epiphany, the coming of the Magi, who are also referred to as the Three Kings or the Three Wise Men. They came bearing three gifts:  gold, frankincense and myrrh. The gold symbolized the Kingship of Jesus Christ. The frankincense symbolized the priesthood of Jesus Christ. The myrrh—a perfume commonly used to anoint the dead—anticipated Jesus’ burial. This feast helps us to appreciate the gift of the Christ Child to the whole world. May the Lord bless you on this wonderful feast of our faith.
