2nd Sunday of Ordinary Time

Greetings in the name of the Lord:

I have recently named Fr. Henry the Director of Liturgy and Worship, and I would like to introduce his role and vision for Our Lady of Divine Providence Family of parishes.

The liturgy is the source and the summit of the Christian life. At his previous assignment, Fr. Henry helped to bring the liturgical life of the parishes into the future. The direction of the current seminary formation of priests, the Archdiocese, and the Church in the United States is moving to update and transform the liturgy along the lines of the Second Vatican Council to make it more vigorous and robust. Fr. Henry will focus on greater formation and education about the liturgy, and work to bring more organization and communication to the liturgical ministries in our Family of parishes. He can ensure that we move into the future rather than remaining in the past.

With greater awareness and understanding of the liturgy, we can more fully and effectively make Christ’s work of redemption in the liturgy real and present in our lives. Our participation in the liturgy is key to transforming the life of our Family of parishes and renewing their mission. Since it is the source and summit of the Christian life, the revitalization of the liturgy is key to the renewal of the parish family. I am happy to welcome Fr. Henry to this role and excited about the possibilities he can provide to Our Lady of Divine Providence Family of parishes.

Yours in Christ:
Fr. Haft
