Change and Opportunity

Greetings in the name of the Lord:

We have entered the beautiful season of Fall. Leaves are starting to change to their fall colors and we are feeling the change of temperature.

Our Lady of Divine Providence Family of Parishes is also in the midst of change, a change in leadership. We give thanks to the Lord for Father Henry Hoffmann and his service to us. We now pray for the Holy Spirit to lead and guide him during this period of discernment.

As your newly appointed Temporary Parochial Administrator, it is important for us to remember that one reality has not changed: Jesus Christ is Lord of our Parishes. We will continue to worship the Lord and serve Him. My role as Temporary Administrator is to work with our staff leadership team and parish leadership to care for the people and temporal affairs of the parishes until our new pastor arrives. Thank you to everyone for your prayers and support.

In closing, it is important to remember that we can look at change negatively, or see change as an opportunity. As we go through this change, I am reminded of a quote from St. John Henry Newman, “In a higher world it is otherwise, but here below to live is to change, and to be perfect is to have changed often.”

Yours in Christ,
Fr. Ronald Haft
