Solemnity of All Saints

Greetings in the name of the Lord:

Today we celebrate the Solemnity of All Saints. This special solemnity celebrates all the Saints in heaven, including those known by canonization and those known only to God. Remember that anyone who is in heaven is considered a saint. These saints that have not been publicly canonized include moms and dads, grandmas and grandpas, aunts and uncles, brothers and sisters, cousins and friends, and people of good will.

They have fought the good fight and have received their reward, being in the presence of God forever. So, we venerate all the saints in heaven. They are where we hope to be. The most important thing we can aspire to be is a saint in heaven.

In November, the Church celebrates the Month of All Souls. We remember and offer more prayers this month for all the poor souls in Purgatory to have a speedy union with the Lord in heaven. At the start of the month, on November 2, we specifically celebrate the Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed. Please join us on Monday, November 2 at 7:00 PM at St. Clare as we remember all who have died from our Family of Parishes in the past year. This year, each parish will also have their own celebrations on November 6-8. Please see page 5 for more details.

Looking ahead to November 14-15, we will recognize veterans and active military members from our Family of Parishes, which is just a few days after Veterans Day on November 11. More information is also available on page 5 of this bulletin. If you know a veteran who is shut-in, please arrange transportation to Mass so we as a community can extend our gratitude for their sacrifice and service to God and country.

Yours in Christ:

Fr. Ronald Haft

Temporary Parochial Administrator
